OXARC, a regional leader in industrial gas and welding supply distribution, is seeking an Acetylene Plant Operator to join the team in Pasco, WA. This position is for a swing shift schedule.

Requirements: 

• Industry experience such as handling cylinders and/or previous knowledge of gases, Cylinder filling procedures, paperwork and plant operations is preferred.   
• Able to read and comprehend safety rules and regulations.     
• Able to operate hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.   
• Able to operate a forklift; general knowledge of common hand tools, power tools, and their proper use.    
• Able to lift/move 70 lbs; able to stand for most of the day, work in outdoor conditions.  
• Able to work independently.  
• You must pass drug screen and background check.   

Essential duties/responsibilities: 

• Perform visual inspection on all cylinders prior to filling.  
• Weigh all Acetylene cylinders to determine Acetone needs.  
• Record all residual and stray fulls from cylinders.  
• Perform hourly plant safety checks.  
• Refill Carbide hoppers when needed.  
• Track Carbide usage and inform management when inventory reaches re-order point.  
• Track Acetone inventory, inform management when inventory reaches re-order point.  
• Load Lime slurry for disposal.  
• Recover residual from all “out of test” cylinders prior to sending to re-qualification facility.  
• Perform PM’s on all associated equipment used for cylinder filling and inspection. As assigned.  
• Report monthly cylinder totals on approved tracking forms to the production supervisor.
