QC Lab Technician

Applied Gas, a leading supplier of custom specialty gas mixtures, is seeking a QC Lab Technician to join their team in Danbury, TX.

Requirements: 

• Previous experience in a QC lab. 
• Associate’s degree in relevant subject or equivalent experience.  
• Initiative-taking and effective analytical skills  
• Ability to read and comprehend safety data sheets  
• Basic mathematical skills  
• Proficient with MS Office applications  
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to see, speak, and hear.  
• Ability to work independently and under pressure to meet deadlines  
• Frequent standing, walking, using hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; may climb, bend, stoop, kneel, or crouch.  
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.  
• Ability to perform very heavy work—routinely lift 25lbs to 50lbs. Also required to push and pull liquid containers weighing up to 1000 pounds with the aid of material handling equipment.  
• Must be able to work outdoors at temperatures over 100 degrees. 

Essential duties/responsibilities: 

• Work safely following all SOPs and contribute to our safety culture  
• Report and interpret data from testing gas mixes  
• Employee will use different lab equipment from gas chromatography, flow meters and computers  
• Employee will be responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the lab equipment ensuring a clean work environment  
• Must be able to work independently   
• Employee will communicate with customers, production and shipping about the different orders as required  
• Performs quality control on starting materials  
• Follow ISO17025 and ISO17034 guidelines  
• Data entry  
• Perform other duties as assigned.
